Perfect Pioneers

We are the Pioneers. We are the oldest group in the company but not always the most sensible. We are aged from 15 years through to about 18 years old.

We do a lot more activities outside of normal GB hours. There are a lot of camps that are both small camps and larger camps like National and International.

The larger camps, the National and International camps are called Fonomarae which is Maori for Meeting Place. They are excellent. They go for 10 days and we do tons of activities like craft, sports, day trips and competitions. We make lots of friendships that last lifetimes.

We also go on Braid camps where we learn how to program and run groups. We make a lot of friends at these as well. There are 6 Braid Camps in all and by the last camp we all know each other really well.

There are heaps of other activities that add up towards badges and extra awards. Some of these extra awards include the Duke of Edinburgh, Queens Award and Pioneer Pin. For these we have to do community service, interviews, and tasks that are preset by our leaders ~ plus a 7000 word project or craft.

From here we then become leaders in our company. This can be in programming, helping, or leading our own group of Cadets, Juniors or Seniors.
